In recent years, due to the indiscriminate use of natural resources, the environment has been contaminated very rapidly. Environmental pollution such as air, water, and soil pollution has resulted in abrupt climatic changes and unexpected natural calamities such as avalanches, earthquakes, forest fires, cyclones, storms, flash floods, drought, desertification, unpredictable change in weather patterns, change in rain pattern, rise in sea level, depletion of glaciers, deforestation, and change in the course of water streams, etc. The pollutants enter different ecosystems and affect every organism present on the earth through the food chain, which in turn results in the development of severe diseases. Thus, there is a need to develop awareness regarding the sustainable use of natural resources through green initiatives. In order to increase awareness regarding the sustainable use of natural resources, several programs are being organized at local, national and international levels. So, by working on the same ground, an initiative has been taken by the Department of Botany, Mihir Bhoj Postgraduate College, Dadri to establish an Eco Club w.e.f. 1st April, 2022. This club will work for the betterment of the environment and natural resources in the college campus and surroundings.
